Official synopsis

1840, Lyme Regis Coast, England. Mary Anning, a once renowned paleontologist, lives with her mother apart from society. One day, a passing merchant asks her if she can take care of his convalescent wife while he’s away. This very encounter proves quite unsettling for the two women. After his magnificent first feature film “God’s Own Country”, Francis Lee once again shows his passion for love stories. “Ammonite” is a very delicate film of great delicacy, starring two exceptional actresses, Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan.
