Official synopsis
WORLD PREMIERE
The light of dawn rises in a rose colored sky overlooking imposing tower blocks. It's the beginning of an odyssey set at the heart of a public housing district following the lives of Yves, a thirty something Berlin based artist, Hamza, a 14-year-old deaf boy, and Déborah, a lonely basketball coach.
Biography and Filmography
After film studies at I.A.D, Belgium, Yohann Kouam studied foreign languages in order to discover the world. He lived in cities including Berlin, Barcelona and Seville. These journeys have always been a major source of inspiration for his screenplays, which are often multilingual stories following nomads. After 4 short films, he felt the urge to completely challenge his approach to filmmaking. After dawn is the first project to emerge from this artistic introspection.
