Official synopsis

Young Han Dong leaves his province for Beijing. As he dreams of becoming a journalist, he’ll have to face moral issues, show initiative and face the consequences of his decisions. Produced by the great filmmaker Jia Zhangke (“A Touch of Sin” and “The Pickpocket”) and directed by young Wang Jing, “The Best is Yet to Come” is based on a true story. A bold and sincere film, it tackles not only the ambition of young people in a difficult world, but also personal morals and freedom. It also seems to weave nostalgia around those years when the democratic dream was still alive.
