Official synopsis
Zine is a young man who is about to ask for Bulma's hand. He decides to initiate a process in order to become the best version of himself. Zine plunges us into his introspections and the daily emotional tensions he has to face.
The programmer’s eye
Zine's absolute love for Bulma is set in a version of Marseille tuned by Sara Sadik's graphics card, in a bloated version of GTA. She offers her testosterone-fueled male character a first-degree sincerity, a loving sensitivity magnified by the “Beurcore” aesthetic and told by Idir Azougli’s thick voice. The use of video games offers full freedom to Zine, a seductive workaholic who reaches fulfillment in this timeless geography, and to the director, who explodes filmic possibilities with her off-center virtual camera.

Sara Sadik is a contemporary artist who works on French youth, notably addressing issues related to adolescence and masculinities. She documents its mysteries and deconstructs social mythologies through filmed or performed fictitious narratives, ranging from documentaries to science fiction through reality TV. In 2020, she directed her first short film, “Carnalito Full Option”, a real-life fiction taking adopting the format of a reality TV show and exploring the construction of the masculinity of five adolescents. In 2021, she directed “Khtobtogone”, a machinima made from the video game Grand Theft Auto V. Her work has been presented in international group exhibitions.
