Official synopsis
While isolated women hope for a more dignified habitat for their families, the town hall accompanies them as best it can. At the same time, young footballers are preparing a tournament in Clairefontaine, i.e. the temple of men's football, and high school students are inventing a theatrical show around the assassination of Chilperic in the neighboring forest. “The End of Kings” stands as a fascinating reflection on a possible new distribution of roles between today’s and tomorrow’s girls and boys.
Biography and Filmography
Rémi Brachet grew up in the Paris suburbs. After studying literature and social sciences, he studied screenwriting at La Fémis and directed two short films. Screenwriting may be his main activity, yet he also works as an assistant director and SFX technician. “The End of Kings” was written during one of the residencies he participated in in recent years.
