Official synopsis

The 1980s. The beginnings of French hip-hop are recounted through the birth of the mythical group NTM, the dancer and graffiti artist Lady V, the journey of the pioneering DJ Dee Nasty and his partner Beatrice, a rebellious young Parisian woman.

The programmer’s eye

“Le Monde de demain” deconstructs the clichés associated with the hip-hop movement and invites the audience to discover the multiple ramifications and hybridizations that presided over its birth, by putting all of its members in the spotlight, be they famous or not. This series brilliantly shows the way in which a collective succeeded in setting up new codes, and energetically actualises the words of NTM’s lyrics: "Whatever happens, the world of tomorrow belongs to us". Indeed, it does!
