Official synopsis
Shana is looking for work; she needs money to leave France and the bad company she’s keeping. Yet, the past she’s trying to forget is never far away. And besides, does she really want to forget it?

Inspired by the career and the personality of the actress, Eva Huault, Shana is a rarely seen character in films and one that isn’t easily forgotten. Downgraded from her bourgeois family, obsessed with a toxic lover, she fights valiantly and cheekily against her environment, multiplying projects and bursting with an energy that proves more destructive than productive. Despite its seemingly schoolboy approach, “Le Roi David” gradually reveals its subtleties and the sadness haunting it, until it finally seems possible for Shana to move forward. — Mathilde Guitton-Marcon
Biography and Filmography
After studying philosophy, Lila pursued a Master's Degree in documentary filmmaking at Lussas. She directed her first film in 2009 and began a long collaboration with Chloé Mahieu. She also worked on different projects. Her films have been shown on Arte, France 2 and in numerous festivals. Her feature debut, "Kiss and Cry", co-directed with Chloé, premiered at ACID in 2017 and hit theaters the same year.
