The programmer’s eye

This second feature film by Thomas Kruithof is an exciting and breathtaking drama, which delivers a fine and well-informed political analysis of a suburban town mayor’s daily life. At the core of a complex process and a scenario drawn in perfectly straight lines around the theme of housing, the audience is able to understand the balance of power that is established between the different characters. The sumptuous duo of actors, Isabelle Huppert and Reda Kateb, gives the film all its dramatic intensity. — Natacha Seweryn
