Official synopsis

Halima is a young woman who doesn’t go unnoticed. In addition to writing numerous committed articles on her blog, she works as a receptionist and hangs out with her group of flamboyant girlfriends. Yet, her student visa is expiring soon. Revolving around universes that seem hostile to her, Halima tries to find her place.

The programmer’s eye

Sarah Bouzi offers a film that is both full of energy and determination, and tells the story of a young woman the French administration wants to expel. The charismatic Mélissa Guers – who was the revelation of Stéphane Demoustier's “The Girl with a Bracelet” – brings the film to life with mad energy. Memorable scenes offer real cinematic intelligence, from the smug domination of a stubborn manager to the extra 300 euros she earns per month, through discussions between girlfriends on the necessary redistribution of wealth. “Halima” is a real “smuggling” film from a director to watch.
