Official synopsis
Argentina is shown divided between deep conservatism and an unprecedented feminist impulse. The film depicts the journeys of Claudia and Violeta in their political development and their intimate life. As trans women who claim they’re transvestites, they collide with patriarchal violence along with other activists. Convinced they’re the actresses of an ongoing revolution at the crossroads of struggles, facing the distrust of the old world, they redouble their efforts to invent the present, to love and to stay alive.

Privacy is political, which is the reason why activists and protagonists Claudia and Violetta live (or rather survive) in Isabelle Solas’s burning documentary. In a country (or should I say a world!) deeply divided on gender issues, the mere fact of existing and moving within Argentinian society stands as a militant act for them. These trans women claim they’re transvestites. As such, they educate others and protest on a daily basis in favor of transfeminism that would take all forms of discrimination into account. Their pugnacity and lust for living are inspiring, and this film, necessary.

Biography and Filmography
A Bordeaux-based director and camerawoman, Isabelle Solas also works in the field of live performance and street art. Her first film, “Inventaire”, launched the broad outlines of an aesthetic that lingers in abandoned places, seeking to understand the living. The desire to film the body as a field of political invention has become central in her work in recent years. “Nos corps sont vos champs de bataille” is her first feature documentary.
