The programmer’s eye

Dorcy, a young black boy, wants to marry Sabrina, a French girl of Arab origin. Slimane, Sabrina’s older brother, tries to get the support of all his brothers to prevent the marriage from happening. A spirited and humorous tale about intolerance, “Rengaine” is writer Rachid Djaïdani’s first film and was awarded the FIFIB Grand Prize in 2012.

Biography and Filmography

Rachid Djaïdani started his career as a production manager for Mathieu Kassovitz’s “La Haine” before becoming an English boxing champion and an actor. He simultaneously published three novels and directed several documentaries and a web series. “Hold Back”, which he worked on for 9 years and he filmed with no funding, was nominated for the Best First Feature Film César. His second film, "Tour de France", was released in 2016.
