A father takes his daughter to Paris for her to start her student life, far from her childhood and far from him. “First Goodbyes” explores the subtle emergence of what’s hiding behind silence, unsaid things and looks, with deeply moving and contained clumsiness.

Mathilde Profit graduated from the script department of la Fémis in 2009. She since has worked with directors such as Mikael Buch, Serge Bozon, Leos Carax, Sophie Fillières and Nicole Garcia. “First goodbyes” is her first short film.
