The programmer’s eye

Nans Laborde-Jourdàa’s second short is ever so gentle, starting with the soft grain of its cinematography which is conducive to daytime reveries and romantic wanderings. Like his kid who hangs out and marvels, Paul walks through life recklessly. The fantasy displayed by his son, a little king of solitude, offers him a disturbing reflection. In the candor of stolen moments, as in an eternal game of hide-and-seek, the film questions the roles one gives themselves and considers consolation as a quest. — Laura Pertuy
