Official synopsis
A 20-year-old Swedish girl arrives in Los Angeles to have a career in the porn industry. Her determination and ambition propel her to the top of a world in which pleasure quickly gives way to risk and toxicity.

IIn this first feature film, Bella's arrival in Los Angeles to become a pornstar offers an unprecedented counterpoint to the fantasy machine that is the porn industry. From the perspective of this aspiring actress, however, “Pleasure” doesn’t only describe a milieu. It manages to deploy an unfathomable, ultracontemporary discomfort: the sad feeling of belonging to the capitalist machine that is screwing us all up. The character’s anus ends up looking as a cauliflower, which could be seen as the symptom of our era. — Natacha Seweryn
Biography and Filmography
Ninja Thyberg is a Swedish director. Since 2009, she has directed several short films that revolve around the same theme: sexuality as a prism of social passions. In 2013, her short film “Pleasure” was presented at the 52nd Critics' Week in Cannes. As a screenwriter and director, she will soon devote herself to a new adaptation of the cult novel “The Witches of Eastwick”, which will be produced by Warner Bros.
